Hiring a car in Stansted is the best way to explore the local area, especially if you have some time waiting for a flight. The region is quite vast so hiring a car is definitely the best way to see everything that it has to offer. Hiring a car provides much more flexibility than having to rely on local buses and their often long routes, and it also beats expensive taxi fares to and from where you want to go. Whether you are visiting Stansted as a family, with friends or on your own, finding a cheap car to hire is your best bet.
Information on places to visit in Stansted with a hire car
Stansted may be most famous for its international airport but the area itself provides a wide range of exciting things to do and see. Its full name is Stansted Mountfitchet and it is located in Essex. By far and away one of the best attractions to visit if you are in the area is the spectacular Mountfitchet Castle. The castle was built around 900 years ago and is perfect for exploring some of the local history. Included with entry is The House on the Hill Toy Museum with over 80,000 books, toys and games on display dating from the late Victorian times to the 1990s - it really is a blast from the past! A couple of miles from the castle you will discover Daisy May’s Farm. This is the ideal day out to take the kids where they can get to meet some of their favourite farm animals. Trips to Hartfield Forest and The Gibberd Garden are excellent days out in nature and we highly recommend them with a picnic!
