Verbier ski & snowboard holidays take you to an extremely popular Swiss resort which is part of the 4 Valleys ski area. This large, sprawling, traditional looking town is actually purpose built. It lies in a sunny bowl at an altitude of fifteen hundred metres with the highest lift reaching over three thousand five hundred metres. The resort has a good snow record and has over a hundred snow cannons on the lower south facing slopes. This fashionable resort provides pistes for all as well as a very lively apres ski scene. With a Verbier ski holiday you can ski hard and party hard.

Verbier has slopes to suit all levels of skiers and boarders. Those who are new to the sport will benefit from the excellent tuition they'll receive from the ski schools. The nursery slopes above the village centre and the gentle slopes on Savoleyres are ideal for learning and practising new found skills. As usual, intermediates have a huge choice of pistes. Taking only the Verbier and Mont Fort areas, there are over two hundred kilometres of runs. Verbier is well known for its demanding black runs, some of which will test the advanced skier to the limit. There are several extremely steep runs  including the one down from Mont Fort. Both the terrain and the lift system are great for boarders and there are also three snow parks. The Xtreme free ride contest is held in the resort. Cross country skiers have twenty five kilometres of trails.

Verbier has a good selection of  three to five star hotels, apartments and chalets. As you'd expect in this upmarket resort, they all reach high standards and provide excellent service. Its many restaurants, including twenty on the mountain, serve a wide variety of cuisine catering for all tastes but perhaps not all budgets.  You can choose anything from fast foods to cordon bleau but even a burger and chips with a soft drink will set you back twenty pounds. Verbier apres ski and nightlife is renowned for its vivacity with its many bars, pubs and clubs. Activities include ice skating, ice carting, tobogganing, paragliding and heliskiing. There is also a sports centre and a swimming pool.

The Verbier ski season opens at the beginning of December and closes at the beginning of April. Many regional airports have direct flights to Geneva which has a transfer time of  two hours.
