This means you can no longer walk down the street with an open container of alcohol. Drinking is only allowed in designated areas such as the terraces of bars and restaurants.
- Restricted Alcohol Sales: Shops are forbidden from selling alcohol between 9:30 PM and 8:00 AM. This rule aims to reduce late-night drinking and its associated problems.
- Party Boat Restrictions: Party boats are not allowed within one nautical mile (approximately 1.85 kilometres) of the coast in the affected areas. Additionally, these boats cannot pick up or drop off passengers within these zones.

The local government has allocated €16 million to enforce these rules through increased security and inspections. Tourists caught violating these regulations can face hefty fines:- Minor Offences: Fines range from €750 to €1,500 (£645 to £1,290) for public drinking that disrupts coexistence or creates disturbances.
- Serious Offences: Fines can escalate up to €3,000 (£2,580) for severe violations, and offenders may be reported to their respective embassies.
