Expert Analysis from Cheekytrip
"April's data shows a very different picture to what we've seen in recent years. An overall fall of 12.4% is substantial, especially considering how popular spring and early summer bookings have traditionally been."
Steve Campion, Managing Director at Cheekytrip, added:
"What's particularly striking is that virtually every major destination has become cheaper. Aside from Cape Verde, which continues to experience strong demand and higher prices, destinations across Europe are offering some exceptional value. With short-haul holidays down over 17%, travellers looking for sunshine close to home have plenty of opportunities to save."
"Turkey, Greece and Malta are all showing significant year-on-year reductions. For holidaymakers who are flexible with where they travel, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the best years for finding a bargain in quite some time."
What Holidaymakers Can Expect This Summer
