Daniel Riley May 08th, 2017 1,188 views

The Costa del Sol is one of the most-renowned sun traps in all of the world. Located on the south coast of Spain, this Mediterranean hotspot boasts some of the greatest beaches around. Today we will take you from the popular tourist beaches to the more off-the-beaten-track, to the very height of luxury. So get comfortable, because things are about to heat up...

Burriana - Nerja

With around 800 metres of fine, golden sand, Burriana beach is considered by many to be the best in Malaga Town having been awarded the Blue Flag of excellence award. Although the beach can be difficult to access, both the views from the top of the hill and the splendid views on the beach are absolutely worth it. With a string of restaurants and cafeterias along the promenade, Burriana beach is perfect for a day-long stay!

Arroyo Vaquero - Estepona

Located just 8km from the small, quaint town of Estepona, is Arroyo Vaquero beach.  Located very much off the beaten track, the beach is quiet during most of the year, making it perfect for those wanting a relaxed, casual stroll along the seafront. The beach and the seabed are rocky, resulting in the area blooming with marine vegetation. Scuba diving in this part of the Costa del Sol is a very popular activity!

Bajondillo Beach - Torremolinos

Bajondillo beach is probably the sort of beach that you would picture when picturing the Costa del Sol. It is a beach on a fantastic scale, over 1000 metres long and an incredible average width of over 40 metres! Lined with dark sand and good waves for bodyboarding most of the year, it is a very popular tourist destination with both local and non-locals. All sorts of facilities are available, from sunbed hire to water sports equipment hire, there's something for everyone!

La Caletilla Beach - Nerja

Situated right in the centre of Nerja, La Caletilla Beach is another quiet beach ideal for anyone looking for a relaxing time away from mass tourism. Characterised by its spectacular, natural coves, this beach is perfect for the adventurous type of traveller. The facilities in and around Nerja are not only some of the best in the Costa del Sol, but they also keep their traditional values allowing for a more authentic Spanish experience.

Puerto Banus Beach - Marbella

Located in one of Europe's most significant centres of luxury, Puerto Banus beach in Marbella is famous for its wide range of activities. You won't be able to stroll about the area without seeing some of the finest yachts, sports cars and boutiques. The beach itself is a spectacle of luscious white sand with water sports such as jet-skiing on offer to tourists for very reasonable prices. If you plan on spending more than one day at the beach, be sure to check out La Concha mountain which is right next to the beach. This is a very popular hiking spot with breathtaking views across the municipal area!
