St Constantine is the oldest resort along the Bulgarian coastline. As well as its rich history, the region boasts a selection of wonderful beaches and picturesque sights to visit. What’s more, the popular seaside resort of Sunny Day is just 10km away; ideal if you fancy a day trip to the lovely national park.
Holidays to St Constantine are becoming increasingly popular and the region can be reached from a selection of airports in the UK. There are plenty of direct flights to Varna and St Constantine is just 9km away. Make sure you check the Cheekytrip comparison site to compare holidays from your local airport so you can plan your complete journey accordingly. Direct flights to both Bourgas and Varna tend to be just under 4 hours meaning if you catch a morning or early afternoon flight, you will still have a full evening to enjoy in the town!
St Constantine is at its busiest during the summer period that runs from Spring until Autumn and this is when the beaches and general facilities are at their most vibrant. Temperatures tend to reach the high 20s throughout these summer months. Prices are usually a little bit cheaper outside of these months from Autumn to Spring as temperatures begin to drop-off in the winter months. There isn’t a whole lot to do in the winter at this resort though so a trip during the summer is what we recommend.
One of the coolest sights to see in the region is the Evksinograd government residence which lies just south of the resort. This place is built in a New Baroque style and showcases some beautiful fountains, gardens and even a staircase that winds itself all the way down to the beach. A trip to the beach is also one of the best activities to do when in St Constantine. The calm, refreshing waters make it a great place for swimmers to cool off from the hot sun and the beach usually has plenty of space for family activities.
The accommodation choices in St Constantine are rather impressive compared to many other resorts in Bulgaria. With more than 50 hotels in the region including some 5-star all inclusive hotels kitted out with large swimming pools, bars and restaurants, you are sure to find something that fits just right for you. For dining options, many of the hotels have their own restaurants which tend to be of very high quality. Alternatively, you can venture towards the centre of the resort where you will find restaurants that specialise in seafood as well as local and international dishes.
