Top 5 Attractions to Visit in Orlando

Daniel Riley January 24th, 2017 1,474 views

Orlando is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world today. This is no surprise with attractions ranging from thrilling theme parks for kids and big-kids alike, to some of the best dining experiences the US has to offer. I'm Daniel and look forward to sharing my travel experiences and tips with you over the coming months. Today we begin with my favourite destination, Orlando, and the top 5 attractions that you should visit.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingom

Perhaps the most famous attraction Orlando has to offer, the Magic Kingdom captivates the Disney feel-good factor like no other. Opportunities include meeting a range of Disney characters as well as a high variety of child-friendly rides. Despite being targeted at younger adventurers, this park still offers thrills in the form of high-speed roller coasters such as Space and Thunder Mountain. Be quick though! These queues fill up fast so in order to skip the regular queue, you're best getting a Fast Pass available in the park or via the park app.

Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure

Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure

For those with a more adrenaline-fueled appetite, Universal Studios and its sister park Islands of Adventure are perfect. Both parks are jam-packed full of exhilarating roller coasters and water rides bound to soak you to the bone. Just walking around the parks is an experience in itself, as you immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter or listen to the Blues Brothers live on the streets of New York. Tickets are cheaper when you buy a 2-park pass, so double the parks, double the fun!

Aquatica

Aquatica

If you're looking for a water park that makes you want to go on a ride again and again and again, then Aquatica is certainly the place for you. It is one of the newest water parks in Orlando, with attractions including a classic lazy river as well as a unique fast one. There's also countless exciting water slides and a giant water play area that has the kids dragging the adults away at the end of the day! Aquatica is unrivaled for a fun family day out.

Orlando Eye

Orlando Eye

Moving away from the Theme Parks, the Orlando Eye opened in 2015 and is now one of the most iconic views in the Orlando skyline. See spectacular views day or night on this 30 minute breathtaking experience. The Eye is also situated on International Drive, a prime location for some of the best and most affordable dining in town. If you're wanting to make a night of it, taxis are readily available or the cheaper I-Ride Trolley bus service stops by almost all of the hotels in the region.

The Florida Mall

The Florida Mall provides an incredible shopping experience and is the perfect place for splashing out all of that hard earned cash. It features an astonishing 270+ stores, restaurants and fast food joints catering to all tastes, ages and prices. Highlights include Macy's, M&M World and Polo Ralph Lauren to name just a few. Unless you know exactly what you're going in for, the Florida Mall can often become a more than a one-day job with a new shop waiting just around every corner!  These top 5 attractions are just the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to discovering, exploring and experiencing all there is to offer in Orlando. With prices to the region starting at just £648 , there really is no better time to start booking the holiday of a lifetime!
