The best group staycations in Wales

Chris Butler July 03rd, 2019 4,741 views

With staycations growing in popularity each year, new holiday properties are popping up all over the UK. Wales has some of the best around, along with some of the most beautiful scenery. Here are some must-visit places:

Angelsey

The island of Anglesey in the northwest region of Wales has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. Its relative isolation from the rest of the country means it has a distinctly peaceful atmosphere. Popular areas include the quaint beach town of Beaumaris, the university town of Menai Bridge, and the bustling port town of Holyhead.

Where to stay

The Chapel House can host 9 people and has a hot tub, loads of outdoor space and great views out to sea. The surrounding area of Rhosneigr is an idyllic and award-winning beach town, where there are plenty of scenic walks to be had.

Snowdonia

Snowdonia is the one the biggest National Parks in the UK. Within the park, there are many exotic regions, and as a result, great holiday homes are in abundance. Snowdonia is a particularly popular destination for walkers and hikers; the park is home to Wales' largest mountain, Mount Snowdon.

Where to stay

The Lwyd Coed Canol home near Penygroes sleeps 8 people and has a hot tub and panoramic views out across the Welsh countryside. Close by you'll find the Gypsy Wood Park, a family park, with animals, wetlands and a mini railway system. 7 night breaks are available from £110pp.

Mid-Wales

Mid-Wales is known as the green heart of Wales, and despite the region's breathtaking landscapes, it's still somewhat overlooked by tourists when compared to the popularity of Snowdonia and South Wales. There are coastal gems like Cardigan Bay, quirky little towns in the vast moors region of Powys, and the strikingly beautiful area of Elan Valley.

Where to stay

The Hayloft is a unique barn conversion. The luxury property has a hot tub and stylish open-plan interior, along with unimaginably beautiful views. The view is what sets this property apart from similar holiday accommodations in the region, which can be best enjoyed from the hot tub at dusk when the sky begins to darken before the starry sky comes out.  7-night breaks are available from £110pp

Other great choices...

Penlan Barn - South Wales: Pet-friendly and has a hot tub. Sleeps 8 people, 7 nights available from £76pp...

Cwmcelyn - Mid-Wales: Large garden area and decking with hot tub. Sleeps 6 people, 7 nights available from £96pp

If you haven't seen anything you fancy here, fear not. We have loads more holiday properties in Wales, and plenty more across the rest of the UK too!
