With the news that the government has reintroduced a quarantine period for those returning from Spain, we've decided to have a look at four great alternative summer destinations across Europe.
With freedom to travel to Greece again, we think Corfu could be a great shout for some last minute summer sun. The island on the Ioanin Sea is blessed with beautiful beaches like Voutoumi and Bataria, and sees average August and Sepetmber temperatures of around 30°. See all of our deals here.
Like Corfu, Cyprus has a similar climate at this time of year, making it an ideal summer spot. Paphos
has a perfect mixture of coastline and culture, with the ex-roman capital home to archaeological gems and beaches like Coral and Lara Bay. The town has an abundance of outdoor bars, where you can knock back cocktails in the evening sun.
Marmaris is as stunning a holiday spot as you'll find in Europe this summer. Situated on a wide sandy bay and surrounded by lush mountains, the Turkish resort is scenic and spacious, making it perfect for keeping a safe distance whilst enjoying the sunshine and its natural resources. Marmaris is home to some of the best family resorts you can find - see our deals.
Mellieha Bay, Malta
Malta may not be as widely considered as the other destinations on this list, but we think it should be. The island's main and largest bay, Mellieħa Bay
, is a great spot to spend time in the sea. The beach is Blue Flag certified due to its water quality and environmental management, making it ideal for water sports or just a good old fashioned dip.
